Super Steppers: Student Led Project Makes Big Impact!!

Updated: Jul 7, 2021

Students, who are apart of the Colony High School's Collegiate Academy were tasked to demonstrate what they learned from the Ubuntu philosophy, which focuses on social responsibility and community service.

Students in the Humanities 1301 classes voted to donate hygiene bags through Any Step Community Services to transients seniors temporarily residing at Brentwood Place Two in Dallas.

Because of their generosity, they were are able to donate 30 hygiene bags to Brentwood Place Two.

Brentwood Place Two is a home for older adults who were previously homeless in an effort to get them back on their feet.

Thelma Reed from Brentwood Place Two was so excited to get the 30 hygiene bags and to give them to the homeless residents who are admitted continuously with just the clothes on their backs. "THANKS SO MUCH Any Step Community Services and Professor Portilla-Diggs’ Humanities classes from The Colony Collegiate Academy for your kindness.”
